“People’s will, man’s will” – AFU x Toronto Television

NIL KHASEVYCH - ART DIRECTOR OF THE UKRAINIAN REBELS

We were inspired to create this series by a video of our beloved Toronto Television, about the life and work of Neil Hasevich. So we're pleased to show the result of our work.

Nil Khasevych is a Ukrainian artist, graphic designer, active public and political activist, member of OUN and UHVR. His works were created more than 70 years ago, but they are still relevant and depict the aspirations of the Ukrainian people for freedom from the imperial invaders.

"I can't fight with a weapon, but I fight with a cutter and a chisel. I, a cripple, am fighting at a time when many strong and healthy people in the world do not even believe that such a struggle is possible at all... I want the world to know that the liberation struggle continues, that Ukrainians are fighting"

The artist wrote a year before his death.

We are grateful to the "Center for Research of the Liberation Movement", whose archive contains the artist's works, for their permission to use them.
